FAQ

1. Will the ForeArmRx™ work for me?

Check to see whether any part of your forearm has any tension or tightness by taking your free hand and rubbing along the forearm muscles from the wrist all the way up to the elbow. Are there any tight or painful areas?

Have you felt burning, achy, sore, fatigued or ropey muscles in the hand or forearm?

Have you felt the urge to massage anywhere along the arm, hand or elbow?

Is your grip weak and painful?

Have you previously had a massage in these areas and felt better?

Have you been diagnosed with “trigger points” (really tight and painful spots) in your forearm?

Has your Doctor ever mentioned that you have nerve entrapment in your forearm?

If you answered "Yes" to any of the questions above, we guarantee ForeArmRx™ will work for you when used as directed. You may try ForeArmRx™ risk free with a 30-day money back guarantee.

2. Is there any reason why I shouldn’t use the ForeArmRx™?

ForeArmRx™ may not work if your forearm pain symptoms arise from your neck and shoulders. Nerve entrapments and tight muscles can affect the muscles lower down the arm, in particular muscles in the hands and forearm. The muscles in your forearm therefore may not be sore or tight but nonetheless have pain or other symptoms due to the nerve compression “upstream” in your neck or shoulder. This can come from long term bad posture or also from short term acute injury.

3. How do I know how much pressure to use?

Always start with light pressure and gradually build up. Our treatment protocol prescribes optimal treatment as twice daily use of 2-5 minutes per treatment session for each forearm. The adjustable pressure knobs allow gradual and precise increases in pressure. After pushing your forearm through the therapeutic rollers for about a minute with the pressure feeling light, tighten the pressure knobs about half a turn to increase the pressure, with the goal of feeling a "good hurt" on your forearm muscles. If you rate pain on a scale of 0-10 where "0" is no pain and "10" is extreme pain, try not to push more than what creates a 5/10 pain. Going any harder than that may cause too much inflammation.

ForeArmRx™ lets each user know the settings he or she is using for a particular treatment and allows the user to reproduce that same pressure setting for the next treatment. This is important because as sore and injured tissues heal, they can handle deeper therapeutic pressure. This in turn makes muscles more pliable and resistant to repetitive stress injury in the future.

4. Is there anything else I should be doing to speed the healing in my forearm and wrist?

Treatment of repetitive strain injuries centers around three areas that an individual can self-treat: deep tissue massage, strengthening, and stretching. ForeArmRx™ provides the deep tissue massage component, which in many cases can be curative by itself. However, to speed the healing rate of your injury and to prevent future injuries, performing wrist extension, wrist flexion, and wrist rotation exercises along with stretching the hand, wrist, forearm and shoulder are recommended. Diagrams and videos of these stretches and exercises will be included on the website soon.

5. When will I notice improvements?

Most people begin to feel some relief within the first couple of days (2-4 treatments) after they start using ForeArmRx™. If ForeArmRx™ is going to work for you, you will have positive results within 3 weeks or less, but remember that the longer you’ve had your repetitive strain problem, the longer it will take to resolve your symptoms.

6. Can’t I just use my thumb or some other type of massage device to rub the sore places on my forearm?

ForeArmRx™ provides significant benefits over using your thumb and other massage devices.

1. Therapeutic pressure is measureable and adjustable, allowing you to increase or decrease the treatment "dosage" in specific measured amounts.
2. Treats both sides of the forearm at once and cuts the required treatment time in half compared to just treating one side of your forearm at a time.

7. If my forearm is really sore should I still use ForeArmRx™?

It is important that circulation be introduced into sore areas. If this is still too painful, then begin with gentle stretching and icing of the area and discontinue the activity that created the problem until you have had a chance to bring pain levels down.

8. When should I start exercises and stretches for my forearm and wrist?

Stretching of your forearm and hand muscles should start immediately. Start forearm exercises 3-5 days after you have started using ForeArmRx™, just to make sure that you don't have too much soreness from starting the initial massage treatments.

9. If I’m already doing exercises and stretching for my forearm and wrist should I stop for a while if I’m doing deep massage with ForeArmRx™?

No, you don’t need to stop doing strengthening exercise and stretching for the forearm and wrist. Review the treatment algorithm in the manual that accompanies the ForeArmRx™, as it gives recommended exercises, weights, sets, repetitions, and contra-indications for using ForeArmRx™ with an exercise and stretching program.

10. The therapeutic roller wheels look too hard to put against my forearm. It looks like it might hurt a lot. Should I still use it?

The roller wheels are made of high-end birch or maple wood. Due to the round nature of the roller wheels and the fact that the user can adjust the pressure, discomfort is minimal. If you have any questions, you may email us or call and speak directly to a therapist.

11. I got really sore after my first treatment. Should I use ForeArmRx™ again while I’m sore, or should I wait until the soreness is gone?

You can still feel a little sore and do a treatment with ForeArmRx™, but you don’t want to keep putting hard pressure on sore tissue because you may further increase the soreness. If you use the pain rating scale of 0-10 where 10 is extreme pain and 0 is no pain, you can still effectively treat with ForeArmRx™ as long as the starting pain is a 3/10 or lower. At this level your soreness shouldn’t prevent you from performing a treatment. You may take a couple of days off from treatment if you are really sore.

12. How does the ForeArmRx™ apply therapeutic pressure and why is shaped the way it is?

ForeArmRx™ applies pressure through its therapeutic roller wheels and patented leaf-spring pressure mechanism. The leaf spring pressure mechanism allows the user to increase or decrease pressure with the roller wheels, and to create treatments with progressive resistance for tissue healing.

13. How frequently should I use ForeArmRx™ ?

Our recommended treatment protocol is 2-5 minutes of treatment two times per day for the first two weeks. Always go slow at first, especially if your problems have taken a long time to develop. As symptoms in your forearm and hand begin to decrease, you can decrease the frequency of using the ForeArmRx™ down to 3 times per week. When no symptoms are present at all, decrease the frequency further down to one time per week or just as needed. In most cases, as your pain and tightness decreases you will find yourself wanting to use more pressure on your forearm musculature. This is normal and is a sign that the tissue is healing. It's a good idea to use ForeArmRx™ for preventive maintenance even when you aren't feeling any symptoms. It acts as a good "gauge" to let you know if any of your forearm musculature is getting tight or is becoming more susceptible to a sprain/strain injury again.
